Recently I was talked into volunteering for a small boat 4K regatta sponsored by the Burnaby Lake Rowing Club – Thanks Laris and Cindae : ).  In addition to watching some great rowing, I found it to be a perfect opportunity capture some of the moments on film. The colours of the shells and club uniforms in contrast with the ever picturesque backdrop of Burnaby Lake made for a great day to be out there shooting…

These are shots from this summer when I was experimenting with different ASA 400 speed films during not-so-sunny days.  The shots turned out to be a little bit redder than normal; but it may have been just a processing problem.

I took these shots with a 135 mm 1:3.5 portrait lens.  Portrait and closeup still turned out quite nice with this lens.  However, motion and scenery shots were quite challenging – specially when in a moving boat.  In some pictures I did notice watermarks.  These are not intentional – just poor processing.  So I have now changed where I get my films developed : )
